  • Students will learn the basic rules of chess, including piece movements, check, and checkmate. Upon completing our INTRO class, they are promoted to the Pawn Rank

  • Pawn Beginner Level

    To join the Pawn Level, students must understand the concepts of pieces, checkmate, and castling. They will also learn basic tactics such as pins and forks.

  • Bishop Intermediate 2

    The Bishop Level is for students with approximately 12 months of competitive chess experience and/or more than 12 months of formal instruction.

  • Students at the Rook Rank should have 2–3 years of formal chess instruction and tournament experience. They should be able to identify and play more than a dozen basic tactics and openings.
