FAQs

  • Structure

Classes in our School Program consist of 30 minutes of instruction followed by 25 minutes of play. We supply all required chess equipment. Class sizes typically range from 8 to 18 students, and we provide additional assistance for larger groups.

  • Registration

Registration can be done through the school or directly through our center on our website.

  • School Program Refunds?

Refunds are only available before the 2nd day of the program. There are no prorated refunds for students who leave the program. Exceptions to this policy can be made upon request.

  • Make-up Classes

Students cannot make up a class if they are absent during the predetermined program schedule.

  • What happens if a class is canceled due to weather?

If the school cancels a class due to weather conditions, we'll try to schedule a make-up session. However, we cannot guarantee this. We always coordinate with our schools to find a suitable date.

  • Variation in Student Chess Skills and Our Approach to Instruction

Based on our coaching experience, students typically show little variation in their understanding of chess when they enroll in the program for the first time. While their skills might differ due to factors like age, maturity, and inclination, even the more adept ones often lack a formal grasp of terms and concepts from prior instruction. Thus, they usually appreciate and benefit significantly from direct instruction, even on "beginner" strategic ideas.
