    New to Chess

    Students will learn the basic rules of chess, including piece movements, check, and checkmate. Upon completing our INTRO class, they are promoted to the Pawn Rank

  • Pawn Beginner Level

    USCF Unrated-199

    To join the Pawn Level, students must understand the concepts of pieces, checkmate, and castling. They will also learn basic tactics such as pins and forks.

  • Bishop Intermediate 2

    The Bishop Level is for students with approximately 12 months of competitive chess experience and/or more than 12 months of formal instruction.

    Students at the Rook Rank should have 2–3 years of formal chess instruction and tournament experience. They should be able to identify and play more than a dozen basic tactics and openings.
