Beginner Level:

Are you brand new to chess? Or simply in need of a refresher course? Then this is the level for you! Our beginner classes are a great foundation for students of any age new to the world of chess. We start from the very basics- how the pieces move, what each piece is worth, and the basics of a good opening. From there, we practice over-the-board play to ensure every student is confident enough to move on to the next level!

Intermediate Level

Ready to improve your tactics and endgames? Welcome to intermediate chess, where we start to develop our tactical skills and shift focus on more advanced topics, such as discovered attacks, checkmate patterns, and more! We also begin to sharpen our tournament-playing skills and practice over-the-board play to ensure every student is confident enough to move on to the next level! (Students are expected to how to castle and to play a full game with checkmate to qualify*)
