The Texas Chess Center is excited to offer a fun and friendly after-school chess program for kids! Each session includes 30 minutes of easy-to-follow lessons and 30 minutes of exciting, supervised play. Our classes are perfect for beginners and for students who already know how to play, helping your child learn the basics of chess, improve their thinking skills, and have a blast while playing. We have two different classes of different levels so students can find a classroom tailored to their needs. Beginner – Introduction to Chess: Students who are completely new to chess will benefit the most from this level.
Intermediate – Tactics and Strategies: Students who already know the basic piece movements, understand how to play, and have an understanding of controlling the center will benefit the most from this level
